Our Purpose

Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute develops leaders from within our community through our ongoing engagement and relationship-building efforts. Our work helps to build collective power by fostering leadership development and providing key cultural learning experiences.

The BIPOC community is most directly impacted by the issues we seek to address. We recognize that the BIPOC community faces racial disparities in nearly every quality of life indicator. Therefore, our goal is to provide key leadership training to support our community in leading their own change and building a sustainable, vibrant future. The purpose of this project is to train and teach women strategies that help them foster leadership development that support them develop their own specific style of leadership.

This activity is made possible with a grant from Mary’s Pence. Through this partnership, we seek to advance social justice by:

  • Forming alliances and collaborations across diverse populations

  • Creating change in unjust structure and policies

  • Building capacity by building leadership, organizing, and other social justice skills
